Stadium Course

Already on the opening hole, you get an indication of how beautiful and difficult the Stadium Course is. A par four with a tee box high above the fairway, giving you a magnificent view but also makes you a bit nervous about your tee shot.

The forest is to the left, just in the line you want to take to shorten the dogleg a bit, waiting for your draw. The forest to the right is waiting for your slice. The fairway looks very narrow from this high up. You don't get too many breaks on this course, new dangers await you around every corner.

Tour Course

PGA Catalunya Tour Course is the easier of the two courses at the resort. But don't be fooled, the course is good enough to have been the host of the Q-school for the European Tour.

The first nine holes of the Tour Course are at the western edge of the Stadium Course. Naturally, the two courses here look very much alike, with the difference that on the Tour Course the fairways are a bit wider, the bunkering a bit less aggressive, and the holes slightly shorter. But it is not an easy course; the slope value from the club tees is 130.

The most beautiful hole on the first nine is number three, a par four with an approach over water, complicated by a pine tree in the fairway to the left. A difficult decision as to which path to follow.

On the second nine, the course opens up into more of a parkland course. Fewer trees but more water keep the difficulty level about the same. Hole 15, a par five, is a good example of a hole where water is in play the entire hole. A very nice risk/reward hole.

The Tours Course will make you want back and play it again. Especially if you are a middle to high handicapper and feel that maybe the Stadium Course is a bit too punishing.
