Sandy Hollow Golf Course is quite different from it’s sibling Ingersoll.

There are quite a few difficult holes, including number one, a long par 4. The tee shot is downhill, followed by a long uphill approach shot. If you make par here you’re off to a good start.

The greens are pretty fast, and somewhat undulated, although mostly they are just leaning one way or the other, pretty tricky to read.

As at Ingersoll, there are many many trees in play. Soon there will be fewer though, since the ash trees have been attacked by an insect, and will have to be removed, to the delight of some club members. Who hasn’t had a tree somewhere they wish to have removed. However, there are so many trees that removing a few hundred will hardly be noticable. And some will be replaced by other varietys.

There are quite a few highlights to mention. Tricky is number nine, a par five going back to the clubhouse with a blind tee shot. Several of the par threes are also quite long.
